ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT FUNCTION

Mining IQ delivers exclusive data, analysis and expert insights through research reports and a growing suite of data tools covering key industry themes, including projects, investment risk, ESG, leadership and investor sentiment.

YOUR ROLE

Your role as a Data Analyst is key in supporting the development of our industry intelligence products, under the Mining IQ umbrella. You will be responsible for transforming complex datasets into clear, accurate and engaging insights that support editorial, subscription and intelligence products. A key part of the role will involve writing analytical commentary and structured insights for research reports and helping translate data into compelling narratives for industry audiences.

You will work closely with editors, data editor and content teams to ensure data is accurate, well-structured and effectively used across products and platforms. This role sits within the wider intelligence function within the content team

The day to day responsibilities as part of the team are varied, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting development, maintenance and improvement of structured datasets used across Mining IQ and other intelligence products
  • Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify trends, patterns and insights
  • Producing clear, structured written analysis for research reports and intelligence outputs
  • Supporting the design and maintenance of benchmarking and ranking systems
  • Working with editorial and product teams to integrate data into content and storytelling
  • Creating charts, tables and visual outputs to support editorial and subscriber-facing materials
  • Ensuring data accuracy, consistency and integrity across all datasets
  • Contributing to audience engagement initiatives through data-driven insights and content support
  • Supporting distribution and promotion of intelligence outputs across internal channels

ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Experience in a data analyst, research analyst or similar role involving structured data work
  • Strong ability to analyse datasets and translate findings into clear written insight
  • Excellent in-depth knowledge of Excel and other data processing programmes
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets, qualitative and quantitative research
  • Strong written communication skills, with ability to produce concise analytical commentary
  • Experience in report writing, research writing or data-led editorial content

ABOUT THE DATA ANALYTICS DEPARTMENT

Our analytics team is instrumental in ensuring we deliver high-grade data and analytics for subscribers, clients, and for internal departments. We are tasked with assisting the development of the data products, improving the quality of analytics, and contributing to business strategy discussions from a data-led perspective.

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, you will be working on an international basis supporting the business globally and delivering a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders. As a Data Developer, you will design, build, and maintain the data pipelines, ingestion processes, and structured data models that power our data ecosystem, including the use of AI tools to extract and contextualise data at scale. You will be responsible for creating efficiencies, maintaining and enriching the data ecosystem, and partnering with stakeholders to turn raw and unstructured sources into reliable, production-ready data products. These activities are critical to maintaining a data-led business mindset, ensuring accurate decision-making for senior leaders, and more efficient operational workflows.

The day to day responsibilities as part of the team are varied, your duties will include but are not limited to:

Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

  • Building, maintaining, and optimising our database infrastructure and data pipelines in a warehouse environment and constantly improving data quality
  • Developing and maintaining data ingestion processes, including scraping and extracting data from diverse sources using AI tools
  • Building and maintaining data transformation processes within the warehouse environment, from both structured and unstructured data, for use in data visualization and self-service platforms
  • Designing and populating structured data models and tables that capture entities through their lifecycle, and building ontologies to map the relationships between these entities

Data Products & Analytics

  • Building and publishing data products, including interactive dashboards, that turn structured data into actionable intelligence for subscribers, clients, and internal teams
  • Supporting and leading projects for the development of business insight and strategy through delivery via our analytics tools and data modelling software
  • Free space to innovate, creating/discovering new tools/processes to keep our team at the forefront of analytics technology

ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

Core & Mindset

  • Previous Data Developer, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst experience, ideally within a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Technical Skills & Programming

  • High proficiency in SQL programming language, and either Python/R/Java languages
  • Experience with data manipulation packages, ETL Pipeline tools, data visualization platforms, and any software capable of data modelling
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, data pipeline design, and structuring unstructured/freetext data into usable formats
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake), including building data lakes, managing freetext/unstructured storage, and modelling data into structured tables

THE FINANCE FUNCTION

The Finance Department at Aspermont is integral to the company's growth and success. The team plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with the relevant in-country financial regulations, policies, and industry standards. By safeguarding the company's integrity and mitigating financial risks, the finance function helps maintain the company's financial health and long-term sustainability.

Operating as a global team with bases in London, Perth, and Manila, the Finance Department works collaboratively across regions to achieve departmental objectives, streamline processes, and ensure successful completion of key projects.

YOUR ROLE

Reporting directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer, you'll be a central figure in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to senior leadership, the Board and external market. This role blends technical accounting with commercial business partnering so ideal for someone who enjoys both precision and influence. There will be some travel required. You'll take ownership across a broad and engaging remit, including:

Financial Reporting

  • Assist statutory accounts preparation in line with IFRS and group policies including (HY, FY Qtrly 4c AISIC Reporting)
  • Support market releases
  • Lead on AASB 18 capitalising of software accounting

Commercial Business Partnering

  • Support bids, tenders, and strategic decision-making with robust analysis
  • Support commercial or supplier contract creation or amendments
  • Develop business cases for investment
  • Lead R&D grants
  • Ensure revenue recognition, cost control, and project profitability (associated with tenders)

Corporate Planning

  • Lead Group budgeting, forecasting and board level reporting.

Systems & Transformation

  • Play a key role in finance/business system optimisation and use

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, about to or recently Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent)

YOUR ROLE

You will lead the conference planning and delivery for all Aspermont Events in Australia and globally. Reporting to the Group Head of Events, you will take on the day-to-day management of conference production, demands of growing & delivering a high-quality program content with respect to all Aspermont Events including bespoke events.

Your role will be to lead on the conference planning and delivery of all Aspermont Events to ensure they are best in class through top notch conference program, content production, including speaker, chair acquisition and industry partner management. You will also be collaborating closely with the editorial, sales, marketing, customer success, delegate sales and operations teams to deliver conference production.

As a Conference Producer, you will be joining our growing events team and working across our continuously successful portfolio of events focusing on writing compelling and topical content and agendas for all Aspermont Events including concurrent events such as workshops, masterclasses, forums, roundtables and seminars.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Researching the market to understand key trends and topics in the resources sector
  • Working with the Group Head of Events, in conjunction with the content team as subject matter experts, on content production and agenda build
  • Working with the Group Head of Events on program production
  • Identifying and building relationships with industry leading executives conducting telephone interviews, to some extent face-to-face meetings and/or virtual meetings
  • Attracting and securing leading key industry speakers
  • Play a key role in developing and delivering events, while supporting sales to drive sponsorship revenue
  • Stay ahead of evolving event trends and ensure Aspermont leads in innovative, best in class content led event formats
  • Researching industry events, highlighting strengths and weaknesses
  • Building the identity and promote each event across social media
  • Working seamlessly with Marketing, Sales and Operations to provide the best pre-event and onsite experience possible

  • Extensive experience within event production, preferably within mining and the resources sector
